7. Version History

Version 1.21 June 24, 1999
  * Corrected batch file to work properly on Windows NT - the CHOICE command
does not exist in NT, so the batch file would fail.

Version 1.2 May 25, 1999
  * A file can now be split directly to floppy disks.
  * It is now possible to cancel a split operation while it is in progress.
  * A new folder can now be created in which to store the pieces. Previously,
only an existing folder could be used.
  * The size of the file to split and the number of pieces required are now
    displayed.
  * Pieces can now be up to 2,147,483,647 bytes.
  * The custom piece size can now be a real number. It was previously
restricted to whole numbers. For instance, you can now create pieces that
    are 174.38 kilobytes.
  * The batch file that is used to reconstruct a file will now check to see if
the file already exists, rather than automatically overwriting it. The
batch file also checks to make sure all of the required pieces are present.
  * The batch file has been rewritten to use less temporary disk space and to
    reconstruct the file more quickly.
  * The File Splitter has been rewritten using the Win32 API, rather than MFC.
This results in a faster, smaller executable and also eliminates the need
    for the MFC DLLs.
  * The progress indicator has been improved.

Version 1.11 March 6, 1999
  Changed version numbering style.
Corrected bugs that prevented The File Splitter from
operating correctly in the following situations:
The Directory for Pieces is a root directory (C:\, D:\, etc.).
The Directory for Pieces contains a ".", but the File to
    Split does not.

Version 1.1.0 March 3, 1999
  Added install and uninstall support.
  Made minor cosmetic changes.

Version 1.0.1 March 2, 1999
Corrected a bug that prevented The File Splitter from
operating correctly on file names that contain spaces.

Version 1.0.0 February 28, 1999
  Original Release

8. Known Issues / Bugs

  * When cancelling an operation that is splitting to floppy disks, the current
piece will finish writing to the disk. Thus, if you a cancel an operation,
the disk drive may continue to operate for up to 60 seconds.
  * The progress indicator is inaccurate when splitting a file directly to
    floppy disks
